NYU apologises for 'racial insensitivity' during Black History Month

New York University have been forced to apologise after serving 'racially insensitive' options for Black History Month, including watermelon-flavoured water, collard greens and ribs. The university who was accused of playing to racist stereotypes with their choice of foods and refreshments has suspended the director of Weinstein Passport Dining Hall. The Black History month meal also included Kool-Aid which sophomore Nia Harris slammed on Facebook.  She said: 'This is what it's like to be a black student at New York University.  'In 2018, I literally had to explain why displaying watermelon and Kool-Aid in celebration of Black History Month was not only racially insensitive but just ignorant.'
